in september when I traveled up to the bigapple for Lucky FABB my fabulous bestie B took me to the Whitney Museum of American Art 2013 Gala and Studio Party hosted by Louis Vuitton at Skylight at Moynihan Station as his plus one.  i mean, lets chat about being fancy.

the event was hosted in a very raw space – yall, we have to enter through the loading dock...it doesnt sound chic, but it was. trust.  the party center piece was nude models posing on and around vintage louis vuitton luggage trunks and the artists (you!) were able to sketch them on large easels.

(truth: i might have pulled the whole i’m a new mom and i never get to sleep so lets just stay in card.  but B was able to slap the crazy out of me and we turned up the music and finished getting purty.)

B not only got invited to this fab party but got VIP tickets which was quite outrageous. it was a star-studded fashion elite event to say the least. ahhh. why is my life not that fancy every day? my new besties rebecca minkoff, riley keough (elvis’ granddaughter), lake bell, and michelle williams were all there looking fabulous.

october was quite the insane month.
(november seems to be quite the copycat...hence this post just now going live.)

we had two weddings on back-to-back weekends.  henry & i spent the in-between week in hot'lanta...where he was spoiled rotten by my family.  i had a fast trip up to new york for Lucky FABB and henry got baptized. sprinkle in halloween and a trip the pumpkin patch and it felt as if i blinked and october all of a sudden became november.

Washingtonian, November 2013

this month the washingtonian did a really cool piece on life after jfk where they showed old pictures of dc next to new ones in order to show how much we've changed in 50 years. they also did a great fashion piece on our fave fashion icon, jackie o herself. we were so excited to be included in this feature, and we love the way they updated classic looks. well done, as always!

the day after our oh henry! situation, the hubs and i took our little pumpkin to the immanuel church on the hill pumpkin patch.

i wore my elaine turner murray boot in black with cognac trim and of course had to have a splash of glam so I wore this crystal necklace by loren hope. 

...what can i say...loren completes me.

i found this adorable pumpkin hat and polo shirt at my cousins shop, Baileys Bowtique. if yall live around atlanta, you must check it out.  henry was so excited to go to the pumpkin patch!

#Bootiques: Puppy Halloween

last weekend the dog park put on the bootiques trick or treating event for our furry friends. on saturday all the kids in the neighborhood came around and trick or treated with the boutiques and sunday was for the puppies of old town. there were so many adorable dogs in hilarious costumes. this was definitely the cutest weekend of the year.

bryarly and margaret dressed up as puss in boots and dorothy. it was only appropriate that they wore shoe themed costumes. duh.

#Bootiques 2013

happy halloween!

let me take you back to last halloween … i had just found out that i was totally knockedup and it was the old town boutique district bootique event. imagine the cutest day ever then times it by ten. like any normal pregnant chick, as you somehow make it through the loooonnnnngggg nine months of pregnancy and celebrate birthdays, weddings, holidays and even lazy sundays you cant help but think about how the following year will be when you have a little person to experience and share all these special moments with.

so fastforward to the boutique event last weekend…where my candyfilleddreams of taking my little nugget trick-or-treating around old town were CRUSHED. the hubs and i handmade his cute oh henry! bar costume (his name is henry…get it.).  since our worlds are a little insane right now we made the costume the morning of the event.  details. henry had his first halloween costume made with love & new parent excitement.

now we had to dress henry in his ahh-mmaazzz-ZING costume. easy, right? nope. henrys least favorite activity is getting dressed/undressed. its really the only time that he will have a full on panny attack. i knew it would be a complete battle and then the hubs somehow had to take a call and left me and bry to get henry dressed. it wasn’t pretty, folks. but thirty short minutes later he was the most adorable oh henry! bar ever.  thirty seconds after that we were cutting him out of his handmade with love & new parent excitement costume cause of the hives that were populating and over-taking his face and entire body. by the time we got him out of the costume he was red and puffy everywhere and i was completely crushed. no trick-or-treating for us. henry went home took a nap and was good as new just an hour later and i handed out oh henry! bars to the adorable trick-or-treaters all the while dreaming up what next year will be like...when henrys walking!
