Meet & Greet: Danielle Nicole

one of our absolute favorite bag lines Danielle Nicole,
is the brain child of designer and philanthropist
Danielle DiFerdinando.

she got her start and big break interning at Bergdorf Goodman.
her talent was undeniable and obvious to buyers,
who asked her to create a line of cosmetic bags for the store.
now the Danielle Nicole line has expanded and can be found at
 specialty retailers around the world.
the collection attracts a following of fashion trendsetters and celebrity clientele
in both casual & formal atmospheres.

from street style to red carpet accessories

recently named in Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30 list,
powerhouse DiFerdinando isn't slowing down anytime soon.
even with her fashionably busy schedule, she takes nothing for granted
and is the ultimate poster girl for giving back.
she currently serves on the Board of Associates
for the Ronald McDonald House New York.
she also advocates for a number of other charities through
Danielle Nicole collaborations.

what sets this line apart?
while she has created leather lines in the past,
the current trend for Danielle Nicole
is to use high quality polyurethane to create the
look, feel, and essence of a leather bag without the price tag.
a majority of her collection retails for under $100!
it's no wonder the brand has become a 'go to' with our vegan clientele!
the line sources the best materials, hardware and finding from across the
globe to ensure quality without using animal byproducts.
win/win situation

"Danielle Nicole handbags fuse runway inspiration and real life accessibility in a feminine, chic and contemporary way. The brand represents a fresh twist on classic styling and incorporates detailed custom hardware and exclusive materials from all around the world. "

stay tuned for fall/winter styles and the introduction
of the newest venture from Danielle Nicole-jewelry!

BTS NYNow Gift Show

tuesday started at {a fashionably early} 3 am.
surprisingly alert, I made my way to Union Station
to catch a train to the epicenter of East Coast fashion,
the Big Apple itself, NYC.

being in new york is always a little inspiring,
and I'd be lying if I said I didn't rerun Sex in the City
banter in my head while I try to blend in with the locals.

my goal was simple.
find amazing pieces at the NYNow Gift Show
that would blow customer minds and inspire
a wardrobe of outfits for the upcoming seasons.
easier said than done.
our aim at bb is to cultivate a collection of
unique and fashion forward pieces that make the
 purchaser feel just that.
unique and fiercely fashionable.

check out some of the gorgeousness that you can hope to see grace
the shelves at Bishop Boutique fall/winter 2015

they use a vegetable based tanning solution so that the pieces

Old Town Alexandria is a small but tight knit community,
with small business support rivaled by none.

owning their own business.

we may be a little biased, but our favorite post
was on Bishop Boutique owner Kelly Ferenc!

End of Summer Suedes

the end of summer and the beginning of autumn is always
an awkward time for your wardrobe.
pack the tank tops away? pull out the sweaters? boots or booties?
the key to transitioning smoothly is all about layering.

as prefall collections start catching your eye, try mixing
heavier textiles with summery, above the knee hemlines.
layer on vests and boots in the evening when it gets crisp.
if you're 'just not ready' to unpack your cool weather wardrobe,
try incorporating seasonal textures like
hair calf & suede in your accessories for a {seamlessly trendy} nod to fall.

{Loeffler Randall} Medium Rider Bag {available in other colors}

Available at Duchess M

affordable, durable, and designed for fashionistas of all ages and walks of life.
we've been carrying gorjana for a few years, and are always
blown away by the versatility of the pieces and how they have the
ability to pull together even the
simplest outfits & turn it into an 'ensemble'.

"gorjana & griffin is a socially conscious lifestyle company that makes
fashionable, high quality, accessories for women and men.
The company began in 2004, born from the
design and business ambition of husband and wife,
Gorjana and Griffin Reidel, whose bi-coastal residencies have
fused a West Coast lifestyle inspiration
with the sophistication and polish of East Coast trend into
each design and collection"

Trendsetter

this outfit hits multiple trend for fall 2015!
Pantone color of the year, Marsala brings warmth and
 sophistication to a flirty shape.
joie fringe boots add height with comfort, and playful movement.
accessories with color blocking make a bold statement,
even when the hues are muted.
__________

if you're not a fan of color on color, try texture blocking!
for example: a shoe/accessory in both black suede & black patent leather.
the juxtaposition of texture will add
depth but keep the overall look conservative.
