Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize!

Obviously we at Bishop LOVE shoes but shoes are only one piece of the fashion puzzle, a girl can never underestimate the power of accessories!  The right jewelry, scarf, or purse can really transform an ordinary outfit into something truly spectacular and fashionable.  Hyla DeWitt’s necklaces are little pieces of wearable art.   Pair one of her creations like this fantastic Cate Necklace or the colorful Nusta Necklace with any outfit for an instant pop of glam

Feeling bored with your drab winter coat and dark colors?   Add a Sir Alistair Rai scarf or a bright orange Milly bag to immediately pump up the color spectrum.

So next time you find yourself wondering if an accessory is worth investing in the answer is YES!  Because while your scarves, jewelry, or handbags might seem like after thoughts, when wearing the right ones they can quickly become the main event for any fashionista!

A Fresh Look at Patent Leather

Patent leather has been around since the late 1700s and it is still stylish, talk about standing the test of time!  While black patent leather pumps are an obvious choice why not mix it up with some color?  If you have been keeping up with the fall/winter trends you know that anything oxblood/burgundy colored is a must have.  L.K. Bennett makes an adorable patent Bordeaux pump with the sweetest bow detail; a great alternative to classic black.

Another way to update your patent shoe wardrobe is to go for a more casual look.  Ivanka Trump makes an extremely versatile and insanely comfortable nude patent flat; an ideal alternative to your everyday shoe.

And if you cannot resist the allure of a timeless black patent leather pump, think outside the box and try a fresh silhouette like this flirty Pura Lopez heel.  Just remember patent leather will always stretch, so a bit of discomfort in the store is perfectly normal.  Happy shopping!

Cashmere Weather Is Here

It’s getting chilly and the first snowflakes are definitely in our near future which can only mean one thing: break out the cashmere!  By far our favorite thing about the colder months is wrapping up in this luxurious fabric, which is no longer relegated to sweaters but includes accessories too.  Why not indulge in a Qi Cashmere hat or infinity scarf.
The pop-top mittens are perfect for you ladies on the go easily converting from a warm mitten to fingerless phone friendly gloves.  In addition to feeling warm and fuzzy in your new cashmere accessories, you can also feel good about the company who produced these items.  Qi is a socially conscious New York based company that promotes environmental health and has taken steps to reduce their carbon footprint all while supporting several non-profits.   So go ahead, spoil yourself with some lux winter trimmings with a clear conscience and if you are feeling extra generous pick up doubles of your favorites because anything cashmere is always a welcome gift!

Make Room for Metallics

Metallics are having a major moment and the best part about this trend: they go with everything! A shoe like Loeffler Randall’s Quincy silver flat is the perfect way to brighten up any ensemble.  Metallics are the ideal way to get into the festive holiday spirit without being too literal.

For those who are daring enough to try a metallic with a bold color Matt Bernson’s Mulberry Cap Toe in Fuchsia is an amazing shoe that actually goes with more than you might originally think.  The bright color is perfect for all black garb and even stays on trend paired with colorful jeans.

If metallic shoes seem like too much of a commitment, try experimenting with accessories like Elaine Turner’s Rachel Metallic Leather clutch in Gunmetal.  You will be amazed at how often you grab this bag whether it is for a casual girls night out or a more formal function.  It literally goes with everything and makes every outfit just a bit more chic and who couldn’t use an added dose of fabulousness?!

Animal Print Neutrals

Leopard is here to stay and we couldn’t be more excited.  This sassy animal print can be worn all year round with anything so it is time to start treating it as the versatile neutral that it is!  A demure leopard ballet flat with a bow, like Isaac Mizrahi’s, looks fab with skirts or pants, quiet enough for the office but still fun enough for drinks after hours.

For those of you who are feeling a bit more bold try pairing Mizrahi’s red pump with leopard detail with dark black tights and an LBD for date night and let your shoes do all the talking!

Cap Toe Fall Fashion

The Loeffler Randall Nanette bootie is a nod to turn of the century style but looks ultra modern paired with black leggings or tights and a skirt or with ankle length pants.  And because the booties are camel and black they will work with any color scheme.

Not sure you want to commit to a full on bootie? Ease your way into this look with Yosi Samra’s uber comfy grey and silver cap toe flat.  These guys are super lightweight and chic enough to wear at the office (a more fashionably acceptable alternative to sneakers or flip flops for the commute; there is really no excuse for this anymore ladies!).
