Gifting on a Budget

Finding gifts to fit your budget can be a challenge but we are here to help and give you some great ideas for different price points.  For the under $30 crowd we have some adorable Kiel James Patrick earrings in a variety of colors and designs.

Our pink and green mesh martini pouch is a great catch all bag for cosmetics or to keep your purse organized.  Because it is mesh it’s great to take to the beach or on a tropical winter getaway.

For $50 you can snag some very traditional yet elegant silver hoop earrings that will match anything and everything.

These Italian Acetate cuffs are super stylish and look way more expensive then they really are, always a plus!  They also come in a variety of colors and finishes and can be worn year round.

For under $100, Elaine Turner’s mini wallet or business card holder is perfect for the busy professional friends in your life.

For a more sentimental gift, Gorjana’s heart necklace is an instant favorite and timeless piece that is delicate enough to be worn on its own but also perfect for layering with chunkier necklaces.  With all these options, staying within your budget this holiday season shouldn’t be too hard because as you can see finding the perfect gift doesn’t have to break the bank!

Gifts Made in America

Still having trouble getting those last minute gifts?  What about narrowing your search to items that are made in America.  While this may seem like a daunting task at first, we have many fashionable items to choose from.  Hyla DeWitt’s Dahlia necklace is a fun statement piece that will spruce up any holiday ensemble but it is also an investment that can be worn in the warmer months with a more casual look.  Hyla DeWitt designs and produces her spectacular one of a kind pieces close to home in North Carolina.

David Aubrey’s Multi Stone Statement necklace can also be worn now but will look fantastic with a spring or summer dress and it too is designed and made in America!

One of our most popular items is the rope bracelet by Kiel James Patrick, which comes in a variety of colors and is the perfect addition to anyone’s jewelry wardrobe. The rope bracelet looks great on its own or paired with sliver or gold year round.  Not only is this gift super versatile, you can also feel patriotic buying and wearing your ropes knowing they are hand crafted in Rhode Island.

Hand made holiday cards are the perfect hostess gift for your next holiday soiree and are great to stock up on so you always have some on hand for that unexpected gift giver.  These beauties are from “My Heart Skips Designs” and come in a variety of designs, all of which are made in the good old USA.  So don’t panic about those last minute gifts, with all the options out there you can find the perfect ones and feel good about supporting our great country. Happy last minute shopping!

Window Wonderland

Old town does a great job decorating and getting everyone in the holiday spirit.  One tradition that is as much fun for visitors as it is for shop owners is the Window Wonderland contest.  Each shop has the opportunity to participate in a competition for the most festive and fun window display.  This year we at Bishop have chosen to decorate our windows based on a variation of the iconic“Christmas Story” complete with the “Fragile” woman’s leg lamp and Ralphie’s pink bunny suit.

Our windows also have the traditional Christmas tree with tinsel and other sparkly treats. So wander around and take in all the amazing holiday displays then make sure to vote for your favorites on facebook or twitter but don’t wait too long  the contest ends December 9th.  Happy Holidays!

Wedges: Stylish and Comfortable

Walking to work or around town is great for your health but can wreak havoc on your shoes. Flats are an obvious choice when choosing what footwear you will navigate the streets in but if you need a slightly dressier look or just want some added height wedges are a great alternative.  The Ivanka Trump Norah Grey Suede Wedge is casual enough to wear on the weekend but the adorable bow and subtle silver hardware make it versatile enough to wear to work.

For a dressier but equally as comfortable shoe try L.K. Bennett’s patent leather wedge in traditional black or taupe.  If Princess Kate can wear them all day long, surely they are comfy enough for us everyday folks to get through an eight hour work day or cocktail party.

Rowen just came out with the Bellview red suede wedge that comes with a detachable magenta bow! This two for one shoe is ideal for holiday parties but can easily be toned down to wear sans bow to your next office meeting.  So go ahead and add some wedges to your shoe wardrobe and give your flats a well deserved break every once in a while!
